The Denver Broncos head coach John Fox will miss several weeks due to an operation that he must have on his heart. Fox will undergo aortic valve replacement surgery early this next week.
The head coach knew about this before, and thought that he could put it off until the end of the season. During Denver's bye week, Fox met with his cardiologist and was told he needed the surgery as soon as possible.
There has been no interim coach named yet, but Adam Gase and Jack Del Rio will more than likely take the team over while Fox is gone.
We saw something similar like this last year. Remember the Colts situation? Chuck Pagano was dealing with cancer, and Bruce Arians took over that team and did a fine job.
Should Denver be worried? With the leadership and type of players that team has, Denver will be fine. Losing your head coach is never something you want to deal with, but keep in mind they have Peyton Manning at the helm.
